activity 2: at school
Discuss with your friends how you could start a recycling scheme in your school.
Write out a plan of how you would do it.
Some questions you will need to answer:
• Is there a need for a scheme?
• Who will run it?
• Do you need help from teachers, the caretaker, the secretary, parents?
• Will the whole school be involved?
• How often will you collect?
• Where will you store the things collected?
• Who will take the things you have collected?
• Will it make money for the school?
• What will happen when you leave the school?
activity 3: where you live
On a map of the area where you live mark in all the places where you can take things for reuse or recycling.
Before you start, decide how you are going to show all the places. Are you going to use a colour, number or letter key? If it is a recycling bank, how will you show which materials are collected?
Some things you could include:
• scrap merchants
• recycling banks
• charity shops
• amenity sites
• clothes banks
